November excavator exports welcome 'little warm sun', industry reports limited impact of anti-dumping measures in Europe and America
The off-season is not weak, and both internal and external sales of excavators achieved double-digit year-on-year growth in November.
Among them, the sales of excavators have achieved year-on-year positive growth for three consecutive months and are showing an expanding trend.
According to industry insiders, infrastructure projects such as water conservancy have driven the rapid growth of domestic sales of small excavators and other varieties;
The regions with increased export sales mainly come from countries along the the Belt and Road. Latin America, Africa, Brazil, India and other regions are vigorously developing infrastructure construction and urbanization, and there is also a large demand for construction machinery.
According to statistics from the China Construction Machinery Industry Association on major excavator manufacturers, 17590 units of various types of excavators were sold in November 2024, a year-on-year increase of 17.9%.
Among them, the domestic sales volume was 9020 units, a year-on-year increase of 20.5%;
The export volume was 8570 units, a year-on-year increase of 15.2%.
According to the China Construction Machinery Industry Association, the cumulative export of complete machines in the first 10 months of this year was 31.459 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 9.17%, accounting for 72.6% of the total export value;
The export of components amounted to 11.855 billion US dollars, accounting for 27.4% of the total export value, a year-on-year decrease of 1.21%.
Among them, exports to countries along the "the Belt and Road" totaled 20.786 billion US dollars, accounting for 48% of all exports (up 8.09% year on year);
Exported $12 billion to BRICS countries, accounting for 27.7% of the total export value (a year-on-year increase of 14.7%).
The regions with the highest growth rates include Brazil, Saudi Arabia, the Arab Emirates, Mexico, Vietnam, and other countries.
Wu Peiguo, Secretary General of the China Construction Machinery Industry Association, stated at the Shanghai BMW Exhibition Forum that although the adverse effects of external environmental changes have increased and the international situation is severe and complex, China's construction machinery technology, products, and services are increasingly recognized by international customers. At the same time, with the improvement and upgrading of overseas business layout of industry enterprises, the industry's export volume will still maintain a high level.
At the bauma CHINA 2024 (hereinafter referred to as the "Shanghai BMW Exhibition") held recently, Chinese construction machinery companies saw a surge in overseas orders.
During the four-day exhibition, XCMG Group received nearly 2300 customers from 62 countries and regions around the world, and reached intention orders of over 6000 units with a total amount of nearly 10 billion yuan. Among them, the largest export order of 3 billion yuan was led by electric mining machinery.
During the Shanghai BMW Expo, Sany Group signed contracts worth over 8 billion yuan on site.
During the Shanghai BMW Expo, Zoomlion specially chartered a plane to invite over 300 overseas merchants from more than 30 countries to fly to Changsha and visit the Zoomlion Smart Industry City in person.
The relevant person in charge of the company told the Caixin reporter that with the expansion of Zoomlion's global market, the number of overseas customers visiting Zoomlion Smart Industry City for on-site inspection of smart factories and production lines this year has increased tenfold compared to previous years, approaching 2000 people.

However, several interviewed companies have told Caixin reporters that currently, sales in regions such as the UK account for a relatively small proportion of the company's total sales and have limited impact.
In the long run, against the backdrop of increasing global trade frictions, Chinese companies are expanding their overseas production capacity layout.
In addition, from the perspective of the domestic market, the association's data statistics show that the average monthly working hours of the main products of construction machinery in November 2024 were 96.7 hours, an increase of 8.79% compared to the previous month.
