Forklift sales decrease by 15.4% in January 2025

In January 2025, forklift sales decreased by 15.4% year-on-year, domestic sales decreased by 24%, and foreign sales increased by 0.69%.
According to the WeChat official account and Wind data of China Construction Machinery Industry Association, 93648 forklifts of all kinds were sold in January 2025, down 15.4% year on year.
Among them, the domestic sales volume was 54950 units, a year-on-year decrease of 24%;
The export volume was 38698 units, a year-on-year increase of 0.69%.
In January, the proportion of monthly exports was 41.32%, an increase of 1.76% compared to the previous month.
In 2024, the sales volume of domestic enterprises accounted for 93.45%, and the electrification rate of forklifts accounted for 62.62%.
According to Wind data, in 2024, domestic forklift sales reached 1.2014 million units, while foreign forklift sales reached 84200 units, with domestic forklift sales accounting for 93.45%;
Domestic sales of electric forklifts reached 805000 units, while sales of internal combustion forklifts reached 480500 units. Electric forklifts accounted for 62.62% of sales, a decrease of 2.84% compared to the previous period.
Forklifts are highly correlated with the macro economy, and the recovery of the manufacturing industry is expected to have a positive impact on domestic forklift sales.
At the same time, domestic forklift manufacturers continue to explore overseas markets with cost, electrification, and delivery advantages, highlighting their global competitiveness;
In addition, relevant equipment update policies are expected to increase the demand for updates in the forklift industry.
