The 2025 Changsha International Construction Machinery Exhibition will be held from May 15th to 18th. According to the organizing committee's prediction, this exhibition is expected to attract over 300000 visitors, including more than 90000 professional visitors and an estimated 3000 international professional buyers. The 'Hunan Army of Construction Machinery' sets sail to tap into global growth
Changsha, Hunan is known as the "Capital of Construction Machinery in China" and is also the world's third largest gathering place for the construction machinery industry. Here, five "Global Top 50 Construction Machinery" enterprises have been nurtured, including Sany Heavy Industry, Zoomlion Heavy Industry, China Railway Construction Heavy Industry, Shanhe Intelligent, and Xingbang Intelligent.
In 2024, Hunan's construction machinery industry delivered an impressive "going global" report card: the province's construction machinery export value exceeded 30 billion yuan for the first time, reaching 31.63 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 20.3%, achieving a leapfrog development from "product going global" to "industry going global".
The globalization layout of leading enterprises has achieved significant results. In 2024, Sany Group accelerates its globalization process, with increasingly perfect organizational globalization, research and development globalization, and manufacturing globalization layout. It has won super large orders such as the largest single order of 80 electric trucks in Saudi Arabia and the largest 2000 excavators in Indonesia. In the first half of 2024, Sany Heavy Industry's overseas sales revenue reached 23.542 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.79%. Overseas revenue accounted for 62.23% of its main business revenue, exceeding 60% for the first time.
In recent years, Zoomlion has accelerated its globalization strategy of "end-to-end, digitalization, and localization", with sustained growth in overseas revenue and a new high proportion. In the first three quarters of 2024, Zoomlion achieved overseas revenue of 17.644 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 35.42%, and the proportion increased to 51.31%. As of the end of September 2024, Zoomlion has more than 30 first level airports and 370 second level branches overseas, with products covering about 150 countries. Its overseas manufacturing bases are efficiently promoted, effectively integrating high-quality resources from the global supply chain and effectively responding to trade barriers.
China Railway Construction Heavy Industry adheres to the "overseas priority" strategy, prioritizing the protection of major overseas projects, systematically laying out overseas intellectual property rights, deeply participating in the formulation of international standards, vigorously promoting localized operations, and continuously improving overseas dissemination and international brand influence. In the first three quarters of 2024, China Railway Construction Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. contracted a total of 10.589 billion yuan, including 2.751 billion yuan in newly signed overseas contracts and winning bids, a year-on-year increase of 49.27%. As of the end of the third quarter of 2024, the company's overseas business has achieved sales of 34 products including tunneling machines, drilling and blasting construction equipment, mining equipment, etc. It is gradually achieving full range product and full market sales, and has exported or conducted business to 49 countries and regions.
